    About Me

    Leo Wells, HDipSAL, ICHFST

I am an experienced Massage Therapist with a holistic approach to health and wellness. I deliver exceptional therapeutic massage in a caring and compassionate manner to enable you to reduce pain and discomfort, to increase your range of motion, to enhance your working or sporting performance, and to aid relaxation and well-being.

I provide a caring and relaxing atmosphere, in depth knowledge of and advice on practical steps for improving health and well being.

I offer holistic massage and self care advice for reducing pregnancy related pain and dysfunction, including swelling of the legs (lymphoedema) low back and pelvic pain, specially adapted exercises to aid relaxation, reduce pain and maintain flexibility during pregnancy and also to enable the body to repair and heal after childbirth.

    60 minutes - £48      90 Minutes - £65

Choose full body or half body/specific areas and the type of massage you prefer. If you're not sure, let me know if you want to focus on reducing pain or relaxation, or, for example, if you'd like to focus 50% pain reduction and 50% on relaxation, and I'll tailor the massage to suit you.

I include manual therapy techniques, facilitated or passive stretches and demonstrate self-stretching techniques and exercises for home use, if appropriate, as part of your massage treatment.

    Pregnancy Massage

    60 Minutes - £48      90 Minutes - £65

Enjoy adapted sports massage, or more gentle relaxation massage, or a combination, in a safe and supported side-lying position, tailored to your specific needs during your pregnancy, from 12 weeks to birth.

I include self care advice and adapted stretches and exercises for home use, if appropriate, as part of your massage treatment.

The cost is the same as for non pregnancy massage but please let me know if you are pregnant in advance of your appointment so I can set up the massage bed for you with the appropriate side-lying position.

You first appointment includes consultation/medical questionnaire and range of motion assessment if appropriate. This takes approximately 10 minutes in addition to your chosen massage time, so please allow yourself a little extra time for your first visit.

Massage is safe at any time during pregnancy, but if you are less than 12 weeks pregnant, you may wish to avoid doing anything which is not part of your usual routine during your first trimester, which may include receiving massage treatment if you are not a regular massage recipient.

How to pay: I accept cash, debit or credit cards, contactless, and BACS via mobile banking.

Cancellation and Missed Appointment Policy: If you miss or cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours notice, you may be asked to pre-pay by debit card or BACS for any subsequent appointments.

    What to Expect

If you've never received a massage before or have any queries, here's what to expect:

At your first appointment you will be asked to complete a short medical consent form before your massage treatment takes place. This gives me chance to check for any contra-indications (reasons why massage would not be appropriate) and to check that you consent to the treatment agreed, and agree to pay the fee as well as chance for you to discuss any pain and what you would like from the massage, whether this is 100% relaxation, or for example, 40% relaxation, 60% focusing on pain reduction, and which areas of the body you wish to be treated. You can also ask any questions before we start.

At your first appointment I will describe how to lie on the massage bed and where to put your clothing and will leave the room whilst you prepare for massage treatment. You may undress to whatever your comfort level is, usually underwear, but you may wear shorts if you prefer. Get onto the massage bed and lie underneath the sheet and/or blanket provided. If you wear shorts and wish to receive leg massage, ideally the shorts should be baggy enough to be easily rolled up to access the top of the legs (i.e. not cycling shorts).

If you have clothing or modesty requirements, please do not be put off from receiving a massage. Please discuss your requirements with me as some massage, myofascial release, trigger points and stretching techniques can be done through clothing and I can adapt techniques to suit your clothing requirements.

I will ask for payment in full after your massage and once you are dressed. You can pay by debit card, contactless, BACS, cash or you can redeem a gift card.

You are advised to drink plenty of water after a massage so I provide a glass

of water but you may wish to bring your own drink with you.

You may bring your own towel or blanket for coverage if you prefer a particular one.

If you have ASD/Autism requirements and need specific adjustments, for example to lighting or background music, please tell me before your appointment so I can provide the best environment for you.
